The Preschool education for 2024 graduate students came to a successful end, and the 6th resident graduate student replacement ceremony was launched by Pinghe Honey Pomelo STB of Fujian Science in the Pinghe County Science and Technology Association conference room on August 12, 2024. At the same time, the Station for Science and Technology Workers listing ceremony also kicked off here.

The meeting was attended by Pinghe County Science and Technology Association Secretary Jiemin Lai, Chairman Liyu Lin, instructors Liangquan Wu &lijin Guo, office director Jiehui Zeng, and laboratory administrator Zhenhe Lai. Hongyao Wang, a resident graduate student of the Pinghe Pomelo STB, hosted the meeting. The first agenda was the summary and presentation of the 2024 pre-admission training for new students. The on-site panel included chairman Liyu Lin, instructor Liangquan Wu, instructor Lijin Guo, director Jiehui Zeng, laboratory manager Zhenhe Lai, and Liu Yedong, the fifth resident graduate student Yedong Liu. At the report meeting, 13 new graduate students took turns delivering wonderful presentations on what they had seen and learned during the training. Following the presentations, the panel of experts provided detailed feedback on the performance of the first-year students. The on-site judges, Mr. Jiemin Lai, Mr. Liyu Lin, Mr. Liangquan Wu, and Mr. Lijin Guo, delivered speeches, respectively. They praised the new graduate students for their outstanding performances and encouraged them to maintain their passion for agriculture, contributing their youthful energy to the big stage of agriculture. Subsequently, chairman Liyu Lin, instructor Liangquan Wu, and instructor Lijin Guo presented the first, second, and third prizes to the award-winning students. The meeting was concluded with group photos of the advisors and award-winning students.

Following the award ceremony, the meeting moved to the second agenda: the transition ceremony for the sixth Resident graduate student replacement ceremony and the appointment of Dean and Deputy Deans of Pinghe Honey Pomolo STB. The fifth cohort of resident graduate students delivered farewell speeches, reflecting on their experiences and insights gained during their time at the Science and Technology Backyard. The outgoing deans shared the knowledge and achievements they had gained over the past 18 months in their studies, work, and daily life, offering encouragement and best wishes to the incoming cohort. After review and approval by the instructor, the 6th cohort of resident graduate students of Pinghe Honey Pomelo STB was announced as follows: Dean: Hongyao Wang; Vice President: Ran Li; Vice President: Ang Zhang. Subsequently, chairman Liyu Lin and Director Jiemin Lai presented the appointment letters to the new resident graduate students of Pinghe Honey Pomelo STB.

The newly appointed deans expressed their commitment to upholding the fine traditions set by the senior students during their tenure. They pledged to make every single effort to maintain the leading role of the STB, follow its spirit, contribute to strengthening its development, and continue to develop it based on the existing STB foundation.

In addition, on the same day, the leaders of Pinghe County Association for Science and Technology, along with the instructors of STB, held the inauguration ceremony for the county's first " Science and Technology Workers’Staion". The establishment of this station reflects the association's response to the new requirements for serving science and technology professionals under current circumstances. It aims to build a new platform to support these professionals better while aligning with the agricultural development goals set by the Pinghe County Party Committee and Government. This initiative is a targeted effort to attract agricultural science and technological talents and promote innovation-driven agricultural development. The “Science and Technology Workers’Staion” will effectively facilitate communication and collaboration among science and technology talents, serving as a vital hub for exchange activities. It will strengthen the unity and cohesion of the county’s science and technology professionals, further motivating and inspiring their enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity to contribute to Pinghe’s economic development.

After the inauguration ceremony, the Secretary of the Party Group of the Pinghe County Association for Science and Technology, along with Lin Liyu, Chairwoman, and Ye Jinsong, Vice Chairman, warmly visited the teachers and students of the STB. They inquired in detail about their living and working conditions and coordinated efforts to improve the backyard's environment, as well as the construction of facilities such as laboratories and a party members' activity room. These measures aim to ensure the smooth operation of the Science and Technology Backyard, enabling the experts and graduate students to settle in effectively and make meaningful contributions.
