The grassroots training course for newly hired civil servants of Pinghe County was held in the County Party school and Pinghe Honey Pomelo STB, on March 3-4, 2023, with 69 participants. The training incorporated a blend of classroom teaching and field visits, with simultaneous indoor and outdoor training sessions.

On March 4, Liangquan Wu, an Associate professor and responsibility expert of Pinghe Honey Pomelo STB, along with Dr. Delian Ye, conducted a session at the County Party school. Liangquan Wu focused on the misconception of fertilization, and presented the technical model of "reducing the use of fertilizer and mitigating soil acidification, supplementing magnesium, and increasing fertilizer’s use efficiency". He also promoted the technical method of "soil modification using organic fertilizer for honey pomelo orchard + winter rapeseed + banned herbicide". Dr. Delian Ye provided insights into soil health and amelioration techniques and conducted practical training sessions after the theoretical class. The newly hired civil servants found these sessions quite useful. Later, Dr. Jiangzhou Zhang introduced the soil sampling method and the rapid determination method of soil pH and fruit soluble solids in detail, conducting theoretical and practical training for all participants.

This training underscored the role of Pinghe Honey Pomelo STB as the talent base. The training improved the workability of the newly hired civil servants of 2023, enabling them to better adapt to the grassroots work and serve the community. Moreover, it also contributed to the "strength of the STB" in supporting the rural revitalization efforts of Pinghe County.
