On September 18-19, experts who arrived at the College of Resources and Environment of China Agricultural University conducted wonderful training and exchange for the IMI network and 200 participants. From mechanism study to field application, from crop nutrient absorption to soil nutrient matching, in-depth analysis of nutrients in soil conversion and absorption factors, for everyone from different angles of the forefront of advances in plant nutrition, soil-crop nutrients in the system efficient Ways to use. Invited international experts from their respective research areas for participants to share the wonderful research results, integrated management of nutrients, especially in the study of trace elements added a new chapter.
The International Magnesium Institute
(IMI) held an academic seminar in Beijing, China on 18–19 September 2017,
organized by Prof. Fusuo Zhang. This seminar coincided with a meeting of the academic
council of IMI. The main topics of the seminar were: 1) international frontiers
of plant nutrition; 2) new progress on the physiology and molecular biologyof plant
nutrition; 3) integrated nutrient management; and 4) the
role of plant nutrition in food security and agricultural sustainability.
The seminar began with a talk by Prof.
Zhang who described progress in the development of the National Magnesium Network
(NMN) and its ambitions for the future.The plant nutritionists, Prof. Ismail
Cakmak from Sabanci University, Prof. Andreas Gransee from K+S KALI GmbH, Prof.
Klaus Dittert from Goettingen University, Prof. Zed Rengel from the University
of Western Australia, Prof. Philip J. White from the James Hutton Institute, and
Dr Balint Jakli and Dr Merle Traeknerfrom the Goettingen University gave invited
presentations. More than 100 young scientists and graduate students participated
in the seminar.
