The National
Magnesium Network(NMN) held their4thtrainingevent in Kunming city from
6-12 August 2017. Prof. Ismail Cakmak from SabanciUniversity,
Turkey,shared his wonderful lectures on microelements, focusing on: 1) plant
micronutrient requirements; 2) physiological functions and practical aspects of
plant nutrition;3) xylem and phloem transport of nutrients and the diagnosis of
nutritional disorders; and 4) the role of crop nutrition in food and nutrition
security and environmental sustainability.
During
the 6-day event graduate studentsof the NMN gaineda better understanding of the
functions of micronutrients, especially Mg, in crops.
