Nineteen freshmen from the Class of 2025 at the International Magnesium Institute of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University participated in a special field training program in Pinghe County from July 2 to July 21. The training was hosted by the International Magnesium Institute and co organized by the Pinghe County Association for Science and Technology, the Pinghe Honey Pomelo Research Institute of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, and the Pinghe Honey Pomelo Science and Technology Backyard of the Fujian Association for Science and Technology under the China Association of Agricultural Technology Extension.
The training combined systematic instruction with practical field experience. It covered core compulsory components, including an overview of the International Magnesium Institute, interpretation of institutional regulations, laboratory operation standards, and financial management procedures. The program also included practical modules, such as an introduction to the Pinghe Honey Pomelo Research Institute and the Pinghe Honey Pomelo Science and Technology Backyard, intensive lectures on experimental principles, hands on training in core technical skills, and field services related to soil acidification management. During the practical phase, students mastered essential analytical techniques, including plant nutrient determination and soil ammonium and nitrate nitrogen analysis. They also worked directly in the field, participating in soil sampling and the implementation of soil improvement plans. This structure ensured a clear transition from theoretical learning to real world application.
