On May 30, 2024, the IMI graduates of the class of 2021 completed their graduation defence. A total of 17 IMI graduate students participated in the graduation defense.

The chairman of the graduation defense committee was Researcher Boqi Weng from the Institute of Agricultural Ecology, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The expert panel included Prof. Chunjian Li from China Agricultural University, Prof. Shiwei Guo from Nanjing Agriculture University, Prof. Xuexian Li from China Agricultural University, Researcher Yueqiang Zhang from Southwest University, and Prof.Yan Li from Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. The secretary of the defense committee was Ms. Ma Yifei, a lecturer at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.

During the defense, the students systematically summarized and introduced the work and achievements completed over the past three years, from field studies to laboratory research. The experts of the defense committee evaluated and provided constructive guidance on the students' theses. The defense interactive atmosphere was engaging, and the academic spirit was vibrant. Following the conclusion of the defense, the defense committee unanimously approved the master's thesis defenses of 17 students from the IMI.
