The "Pindoduo Cup", the second STB competition focusing on China’s Graduate students engaged in rural revitalization, science and technology, and strong agricultural innovations, was organized by the Chinese Society of Academic Degree and Graduate Education and the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology. Sponsored by Pinduoduo, this competition was aimed at the theme of "Solving people’s livelihood, Exploring and Studying knowledge". It was divided into five regional competitions held in Fujian, Jilin, Shandong, Shaanxi, and Chongqing. On November 5, the Fujian Regional Competition was successfully held in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. The College of Resources and Environment, Graduate School, and Social Service Department of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University jointly organized the competition. The distinguished guests, such as Mr. Ruijian Wu, Chairman of Fujian Rural Professional Technology Association, Prof. Li Jianqiang, Honorary Director of Agriculture and Forestry Work Committee and Head of Academic Advisory Group of China Academic Degree and Graduate Education Association, Prof. Chong Wang, Vice Dean of College of Resources and Environment of China Agricultural University, and Luyang Wang, representative of PinDuoDuo, graced the event. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Jian Lv, Deputy Dean of the College of Resources and Environment, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.

A distinguished expert panel of judges from China Agricultural University, Southwest University, Hebei Agricultural University, Guangxi University, Qingdao Agricultural University, and Beijing Zhi Yun Career Technology Co., LTD. meticulously reviewed the participating teams.

Opening ceremony

Twenty teams from 9 universities in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Fujian, Anhui, Zhejiang, Beijing, and Hainan provinces participated in the competition. They demonstrated the achievements of STB construction from the aspects of scientific and technological innovation, application innovation, industrial innovation, and service innovation through on-site roadshows and offline demonstrations. The diverse array of projects included rice, tea, chrysanthemum, pomelo, kiwi, sugarcane, dragon fruit, ripe pear, cucumber, radish and other crops, meat sheep, pig, river crab, prickly thorax frog and another animal husbandry, rice and crab comprehensive cultivation, soil modification formula, soil improvement, seedling strengthening technology, organic and inorganic fertilizer application, the establishment of resource nursery and other agronomic technologies. The panel of judges conducted inquiries and professional comments on project promotion, benefits generation, effectiveness of social services, innovation, team dynamics, roadshow performance, offline display, and more.

Under the meticulous supervision of the arbitration expert group, the independent scoring, score summary, comprehensive research, and selection results by the expert group of judges led to the recognition of outstanding projects. The first prize was awarded to Yangzhou University's "Melon prosper, build a dream village", Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University's "Fragrant pomelo, sweet pomelo", Nanjing Agricultural University's "Move forward together" won the first prize. The second prize went to Yangzhou University's "Field Steward" Party member's doctoral and master's Science and technology to help Agriculture Practice Group, Anhui Agricultural University "Anhui Dingyuan Meat Sheep Science and Technology Small Academy", and China Agricultural University " The Red Fruit Team". The third prize recipients were China Agricultural University "carbon reduction future team", Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University "The unexpected team", Anhui Agricultural University "harvest and boom, Dream Shining Team", and Anhui Institute of Science and Technology’s “A good harvest of rice covered the trees team". Additionally, the remaining ten teams were recognized with the Excellence Award. The first, second, and third prize-winning teams from the Fujian regional competition have qualified for the national finals, which will be held at the end of this year.
