Experts and famers were invited to participate in an IMI Field Day at the Fengshan base of the Anxi Tieguanyin Groupon 17 October 2017. The aim was to demonstrate the benefits of magnesium fertilizers for improvingthe quality and nutrient use efficiencyoftea trees. Compared with farmers’ fertilizationpractice, optimized NPK fertilization plus Mg increased the number of sprouts per unit area by 38% and fresh weight of tea by 32%.The participating experts discussedthe experiments, and agreed that magnesium fertilizer hashuge potential forimprovingthe quality and nutrient use efficiencyoftea trees and other crops.
