On November 6, 2024, to thoroughly implement the important discussion of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on agriculture, rural development and Jiangsu’s progress, and to carry out the 2024 No. 1 policy directives of the central and Jiangsu Provincial Party Committees on "expanding and strengthening the Science and Technology Backyard model," the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology organized a delegation to visit IMI for a theoretical seminar and exchange on leveraging science and technology to advance rural revitalization.  The delegation consisted of 32 representatives, including Jie Zhang (Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology Rural Technical Service Center director, Jiangsu Province Rural Professional Technical Association executive vice chairman), Ledong Xu (Yangzhou Association for Science and Technology Party members, vice chairman), Xuezhong Jiang (Jiangsu Department of Agriculture Science and Technology Department, Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Agricultural product processing standardization Technical Committee director), Weimin Xu (Wuxi Association for Science and Technology vice chairman), Shiming Chu (Vice Chairman of Lianyungang Association for Science and Technology), Zongfang Li (Executive Deputy Secretary-General of Jiangsu Agricultural Society). 

At 11 am, the Anxi Tieguanyin Group Creative Hall, Zetian Zhang, Director of Anxi Minnan Oolong Tea STB, delivered a detailed work report to the visiting representatives of the JiangsuRural Revitalization through Science and Technology Seminar. The report covered the key initiatives, current research achievements, and future development plans of the STB. The representatives attentively listened to the report, engaged in an in-depth discussion with the students, and highly praised the efforts and contributions of the STB.

Following the report, the seminar representatives, guided by the STB students, explored its achievements in oolong tea research and innovation. These achievements highlighted technological innovation and practical achievements in oolong tea cultivation and processing, sparking great interest among the representatives.

Accompanied by Chaogen Xu, chairman of the County Science and Technology Association, and Guanghui Wu, secretary of Anxi Tieguanyin Group, the representatives visited the Anxi Tieguanyin Group company’s historical exhibition Hall, old industrial production line, former tea factory. On the second floor of the exhibition Hall, the representatives explored the rich cultural heritage of Tieguanyin tea and gained insights into the company's history and corporate culture. At the old tea factory and production line, they experienced firsthand the evolution of traditional tea-making techniques, gaining a deeper understanding of oolong tea production and its cultural significance.

This exchange and observation activity not only allowed the representatives of Jiangsu Province to deeply understand the working mode of Anxi Minnan Oolong Tea Science and Technology Backyard and the development experience of Tieguanyin Group, but also provided new ideas and inspiration for the rural revitalization work of Jiangsu Province. The representatives expressed their commitment to bringing the knowledge gained from this visit back to Jiangsu Province, actively promoting the STB model, enhancing technological innovation, and strengthening talent development to contribute to their strength in the province’s rural revitalization initiatives.

The 2024 Jiangsu Province Theoretical Seminar on Technology-Driven Rural Revitalization, which included a visit to Anxi Tieguanyin Group, was not only a successful exchange and observation activity, but also an important initiative to promote the development of rural revitalization efforts. It also served as a recognition of the role that STB play in supporting rural development. The Anxi Minnan Oolong Tea STB would continue to uphold the spirit of scientific and technological innovation, constantly exploring and practicing new paths and new models of science and technology to help rural revitalization and make great contributions to promoting the development of rural revitalization.

The instructional spirit of the important speech on the work of Jiangsu Province, the requirements of "promoting the model of science and technology backyard and running science and technology backyard " in document No. 1 of the Central and Jiangsu Provincial Party Committees in 2024 were implemented.
